United put quite a lashing on Derby County today in the 5th round proper of the FA Cup. With a 4-1 victory, United now await the 6th round draw where they could potentially face ‘managerless’, Chelsea.
I personally love to watch these FA cup games when United can call upon their squad depth to take care of business. Players like Fletcher, Gibson, Welbeck all got the chance to shine today, and shine they did.
Danny Welbeck has potential written all over him, and he showed that today in his perfectly placed goal.
4-1 victory without the like of Rooney and Berbatov? I call that a hugely successful day!
Manchester United at Derby County FA Cup 5th Round First Half

The fifth round proper of the FA CUP drew Derby County for the Red Devils of Manchester.
SAF started the game with a lineup that shows his depth in squad, with all Park, Gibson, Fletcher, and Nani in the midfield. What I found quite interesting is the experimenting by SAF with Ronaldo and Giggs paired together up front.
The highlight of the first half for me was Ronaldo’s 19th minute free kick from 35 yards out right into the lower half of Robbie Savage. Does anyone think that Ronaldo was aiming for this after the Savage took him down earlier on in the game with a whistle?
ManUtdBlogs.com New Article Inspired by Today’s Match

It has been quite some time since I last posted an article on this Manchester United Blog site. I think it was today’s match at West Ham that has inspired me to start writing again for manutdblogs.com.
The first half of play today was so exciting to watch. The passing and movement of the starting 11 was absolutely sublime. I would have rather seen a half like this with no goals than a 5 goal half with lesser quality play.
My question to you readers is, why did SAF start Giggs on the right side with Ronaldo on the left? The combination of Giggs and Scholes on the left side of midfield should be used more often by SAF. It was obvious that Giggs was not at all comfortable on the right side in today’s first half.
As soon as Giggs floated over to the left side of the pitch in the second half, goal. Anyone have thoughts on this?
