NEW VIDEO SERIES – Manchester United New Rules

To supplement the ManUtdBlogs.com’s new blogging series, ‘New Rules’,  I am creating short little video clips to add a bit of humor to my articles.  I love getting feedback and/or suggestions for ways to improve!  Enjoy!

New Rules for Matchday 9 – United take on Everton

This is the first of many posts in a new ManUtdBlogs.com series of ‘new rules.’  Many may pick up on the theme  of these witty ‘rules’ from the popular comedian and HBO talk show host, Bill Maher.  Bill is hands down one of the best articulated comedians around today.

So without further ado, here are the NEW RULES for Matchday 9 (Manhchester United v. Everton).

New Rule: ’s acting career needs to come to an end.  After Phil Neville slid in with a somewhat dirty tackle today, Ronaldo’s fall and frantic rolling on the ground was something worthy of an oscar.  Yes the tackle was uncalled for from Gary’s other half but Real Madrid fans just are not yet used to Ronaldo’s ways.  Wait, did I say Real Madrid?

New Rule: Rio and Wes are not invited to ’s birthday party next year.  Wayne turned 23 yesterday and it seems and were not exactly on top of their game today.  In fact, today was one of the worst games I’ve seen play in a Manchester United shirt.  Maybe they thought they had England shirts on alongside fellow England defender Ashley Cole with those appalling pass backs today.

Manchester United put the fear back into the top 4

Old Trafford played host to West Brom. this evening in a 4-0 massacre, courtesy of Manchester United.

Does anyone know why Fergie dressed 3 different right backs for the game?  I thought it was a great idea for SAF to start Rafael at , considering Wes had played for England and Gary Neville was perhaps being saved for Tuesday night’s champions league match.

But why did all three of them dress when we’ve got the likes of not seeing the light of day?  I would have liked to see come off at the hour mark with to replace him.  I don’t know what Fergie is waiting for to give the Angolan a shot in the Premiere League.

In any event, Manchester United have definitely instilled a sense of fear in the top 4.  The Red Devils are rolling now!

United top rivals set the scene for Man Utd. v West Brom.

Chelsea, Liverpool, and Arsenal all picked up three points today to make Manchester United’s matchup today against West Brom a little more dramatic.  Coming off inernational duty, many Man Utd players may be a bit tired or rusty, so it will be important for Fergie to use his biggest strength; squad depth.

The match I chose to watch this morning was Arsenal v Everton.  I’ve been saying since the start of the season that this year’s Premeire League title will be between the likes of Man Utd and Arsenal.  Many people will strongly disagree with me that this year is Arsenal’s year but I have a feeling they will definitely be in contention.  I think the young Theo Walcott gains more and more confidence with each match, and will be a major goal contributor this season; much like he was today at the Emirates Stadium in London.

Manchester United should be able to pick up an easy 3 points this evening to possibly regain their top 4 standing in the EPL table.

Nani sets up camp in the shadows of Ryan Giggs

Lately i’ve been reading a lot about ‘Prince ’ and how he has pretty much set up camp in the shadows of one, Ryan Giggs since coming to Old Trafford last year.

Let me start by saying that I do not care for the lad at all.  Many may strongly disagree with me, however I stick to my guns and say that Sir Alex should really consider sending him elsewhere.  After all, many Premiere League teams would probably jump at the chance to sign , (especially money bags, Manchester City).

I can not quite put my finger on what it is exactly that makes me despise Mr. Luís Carlos Almeida da Cunha ().  Maybe the fact that he was signed to support Fergie’s attacking midfield, and has only 5 goals since 2007.  Now this may seem like a lot for a player who gets very little playing time, however consider the amount of shots per game that go astray from the young Portuguese winger.

No doubt that has sublime ball handling skills, but the general Man Utd player characteristics just doesn’t seem to fit .  I’ve said this before and I will continue to say it regardless of the disagreements that arise: is consistently one of the worst corner takers I have ever seen for a major, champion-status club.

Manchester United sponsor AIG sends execs to spa

Manchester United principle club sponsor, , is under massive amounts of scrutiny in the United States and around the world.

According to reports, executives treated themselves to a week-long stay at a southern Californian resort. What was the bill after the spa treatments, rounds of golf, and oceanfront hotel suites? Only a mere $440,000 USD.

Is kidding me? They claim this is standard procedure to give back to their money-making executives. Money making executives? You mean the same ones that drove the company to the brink of bankruptcy, and prompted worldwide market crashes?

How could not see this coming? What genius would go ahead with this week long trip just days after the United States Government $85 billion USD bailout, acquiring majority stake in the company!

I then am forced to read articles about how Manchester United will significantly be affected by all of this. Rubbish. The £14 million GBP per year to sponsor one of the largest clubs in the world should be looked at as a bargain (although I understand it is the most expensive club sponsorship in the world), especially considering the disgusting amounts of golden parachutes executives have been receiving.

What is the world coming to really?

Rooney finally showing up to play

Man United fans around the world are finally feeling at peace with the young Wayne after several months of questionable, and ineffective play.

Summer time rumors spoke of ’s attitude problems and unwillingness to report to the team’s training sessions. Many speculated had somehow burnt out and wasn’t able to cut it any longer.

All of that is over now, and the brilliant is definitely back on form, capturing his most recent goal at Blackburn this past Saturday.

With world cup qualifiers for England quickly approaching, ’s re-entry to goal scoring could not have come at a better time.

Now lets just work on staying in the striker position and not wandering all over the pitch wasting valuable goal-scoring energy.

Wes Brown proves his right-back candidacy

I’ve been debating this issue over the last few days as to who should be Fergie’s #1 choice for the position. Rafael Da Silva certainly made a case for himself in Tuesday’s Champions League clash with Aalborg.

Many people have been telling me Wes should be third in the depth chart for the position behind Da Silva and Gary Neville. I even threw out the notion of moving over to second in the depth chart behind , alongside Johnny Evans.

Nonetheless, Wes proved to Fergie today against Blackburn that he intends to fight for his spot on the starting first team. With the first goal from the corner kick, also set up the second goal with a fantastic ball to Ronaldo who then assisted with the goal.

I am sure we will see who Fergie values the most at that spot against Celtic in the next round of Champions League action of October 18th.

Express your views. Who should be first in the right-back depth chart? Neville//Da Silva?

Can Fergie give Manucho some first team playing time please?

I don’t know about the rest of the Man. United fan world, but for me the arrival of Angolan striker, , at the beginning of this year made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. I thought, FINALLY we are targeting prospects in the African countries. For a man with 6 goals in 14 apps with his Angolan national team, I believe should be getting much more first team experience.

Yes people will tell me, “well it’s because of all the work permit problems with the UK Government”, or “our attacking line is already chock full of talent and valuable assets” (, Ronaldo, Berbatov, Tevez). I say thats rubbish. has had his UK work permit since Aug 28th of this year and has not seen more than 10 minutes this season on the first team after being almost a third of the way through his 3 year contract.

Fergie, give the lad some playing experience. ’s got a knock, not to mention important world cup qualifiers to rest for. Ronny still isnt 100% in my book. With all the midfield injuries as of late, I proposed a 4-3-3 formation against Blackburn Rovers with Tevez, Berbatov, and all up front.

This doesn’t appear to be the case ahead of tomorrow’s game as is not even listed as a sub.
